What are cataracts?

Beginning around the age of 40, the eyes natural lens begins to lose it’s flexibility and begins to harden. The eye begins to lose the ability to change focus from near to intermediate, to distance, and back again. This is called ‘presbyopia’ and early symptoms are difficulty in seeing things up close. As the eye lenses continue to get worse, they become cloudy or brown – causing reduction in vision, blurriness and loss of color vision.Left untreated, cataracts can of course lead to blindness.Contact us to learn more about cataracts.
